FOR CAL | ceremonies.
[ there are a couple of things in life that hanbei enjoys for the pure sake of enjoyment. reviewing strategies, observing (to-be-conquered) scenery... and tea ceremonies. perhaps it's because he can make some sort of progress in things with the aforementioned tasks, especially considering hideyoshi's purposes for tea ceremonies...
which is maybe part of the only reason he's capable of teaching the customs of it, for all its length. for a rushed man, hanbei is a surprisingly patient one--which is why he's not annoyed at having to explain complexities. another reason might be the identity of the recipient, who's rather capable in his own right.

and then he turns back to mitsunari. ]
What do you know about tea ceremonies?

...except now he has to deal with the fact that--]
I...have never participated in a tea ceremony, Hanbei-sama.
[aka he's got nothing.]

[ casually. at least they can build from the ground up. with proper... tea procedures. there needs to be more than slicing going on, mitson. ]
